Useful Web Site Links 1) SPAD related. The original very useful USA site. Large selection of plans and how to's on this site. Unfortunately, the ones I have built to plan do not perform as well as I would like (with two exceptions - the DasPlaStick (DPS) and the Debonair). Note I have not built all of the plans on the site. Very useful online Forum for idea sharing - covers flying issues and tips for comparison purposes. Most contributors have built one or more of the above plans. Another Forum. Draco plans on this one. U.K. based - has Spad section as well as general sections. Wiz (alias Nigel Hancock - ex. HWDMAC) is a moderator of this forum. www.avoidingtheground.com or www.spaduk.co.uk Most SPAD flyers and Contributors from St. Neots club have moved from rcmodelflyers.co.uk to this Web Site and forum.
2) Non Spad related Mostly fixed wing I/C. Excellent Aerobatics and Training pictorial (browser based) downloads for everything, Fixed Wing and Rotary. Someone spent a lot of time on this. Highly recommended ! A great example of how to promote a Club. The governing body. Download the current "A" , "B", and "C" tests from here.
3) Weather related Brilliant real-time updated web site. Nearest weather stations to High Wycombe are airports "Benson"(20.2mls) and "London Heathrow" (22mls). If , like me, you are fed up with inacurrate BBC or Teletext estimates, this is the place to go. Also has windspeed history by the hour. Now has High Wycombe station (at Booker). 5 day forecast is useful guideline, but needs re-checking daily due to the variability of our weather systems.
4) Helicopter related www.redkitehelicoptertraining.co.uk Bucks. local Helicopter field - 3 Pads/Parking next to Pads/Heli. benches next to Pads/space/availability and training as necessary. Used by Skyline for 3D as well as Basic helicopter training. Also used by the Full size Helicopter School at Booker aerodrome and the Army for their Chinooks and smaller helicopters.
5) Commercial Shops Local Bucks. Helicopter specialist. Sponsors Rick Mead (Sportsman) and Wesley Crockett (Masters) in 3D competitions. Midland Helicopters web site - extensive stocks of spares and next day delivery.
